Has X Factor boss Simon Cowell put his tail between his legs for the sake of ratings?

Should Mason Noise publicly apologise?
X Factor boss Simon Cowell and controversial Mason Noise have 'cleared the air' regarding his return to the ITV show, Mirror Online can exclusively reveal.
Despite a storm brewing online - with 'angry' viewers saying they would boycott the show - it seems Cowell has done a U-turn on the 21-year-old waiter from Birmingham.
Viewers saw Cowell call Mason a "complete a***hole" before the singer dropped the mic and left the stage, but that tantrum is now seemingly all in the past.
A source close to the show told Mirror Online: "They have cleared the air with one another."

Mason previously claimed he was 'stitched up' but now he has replaced Tom Bleasby in the series' biggest shock yet.
Simon asked Mason to apologise before he stormed off and it's unknown if the act has done so since his return.
Another X Factor source told us that they've "had a discussion".

Should Mason Noise publicly apologise for his outburst?

In an official statement the X Factor's Nick Grimshaw explained his decision to bring Noise back, saying: "After Tom decided to leave the show, Mason was the person I wanted to bring back.
"Yes he was difficult at the six chair challenge, but people with an artistic temperament can be difficult. He's talented and in previous auditions excited us judges. Sometimes a challenge is interesting."
Noise said: "I appreciate Nick inviting me back on the show. And even more so, I appreciate the fact he understands what I am trying to achieve... challenge accepted!"
He will join Grimshaw at the judge's houses stage along with the other boys in Grimshaw's category: Ben Clark, Che Chesterman, Josh Daniel, Seann Miley Moore and Simon Lynch.
Earlier this week 19-year-old Tom explained his reasons for leaving the show on the official X Factor website at ITV.com.
"It was a tough decision, I think I really discovered it at the six chair challenge," he said.
"I just don't know if I felt vocally ready to take on the competition and the pressure.
